Oasis is a surprisingly successful dating site you’ve never listened of – though is it any good?

A lot of good things have come out of Australia: Tim Tams, Hugh Jackman, latex gloves (seriously).

Now we can supplement Oasis Dating to a list.

What’s an 80/20 relationship, and would it work for you?

If we know your ghosting from your gaslighting, or are one of a 2.4 million UK daters who have assimilated Oasis over a final 6 years, afterwards it will already be on your radar.

For a rest of us, Oasis is one of a fastest flourishing dating sites out there and it’s totally free.

If we wish to get absolved of a adverts, however – and there are a lot of adverts – you’ll have to compensate (going ad-free for 30 days costs £3.49).

Keen to try Oasis for myself, though with my singular days behind me, we roped in my crony Magda.

It took small mins for Magda to emanate her profile; a speed is a genuine draw.

The initial charge was to write an ‘About Me’ piece.

A discerning corkscrew by other profiles valid that a judgment or dual would sufficient (and that grammar, punctuation and spelling were apparently optional).

Next up, a customary drop-down boxes to report coming and state welfare for things like pets, celebration and smoking.

There’s also a ‘How regretful are you?’ section, where choices ranged from ‘Very’ to a parsimonious ‘Not during all’.

Magda plumped for a customary ‘Romantic’.

We were tender by a choice to claim yourself as transgender, that incorporated ‘transsexual, cross-dresser or other gender-variant’ – it’s heartening to see a mainstream dating site catering for everyone.

Finally, it was time for Magda to state what she was looking for.

‘Easy-going, certain and hot,’ she wrote, that seemed flattering comprehensive.

The likes poured in immediately.

She clocked adult her initial 16 likes in a initial 10 minutes, before her print was even approved.

At slightest half came from group looking for ‘women aged 20 to 40, anywhere in a UK’.

We spent a dedicated 20 mins scrolling by a group that met Magda’s criteria though sadly no one held her eye.

‘Maybe it’s directed during people looking for a critical relationship,’ she said, charitably.

Oasis does what it says on a tin.

For co-founder and CEO Dave Heysen, this means: ‘Join, upload a photo, write something brief about yourself and what we are looking for… and off we go.’

I would agree.

Oasis has a no-frills blueprint and a simple interface; it isn’t a many worldly or prettiest dating site you’ll see and some of a form cinema lacked light or clarity or – in a box of topless Lucas – decency.

It is however, quick, easy and free.

Is it a portal to prolonged and durability love?

Not for my 30-something singular friend. But 2.4 million users are clearly on to something.
